A new year, a new colourful design for the London Design Guide
One of the great things about London Design Festival is that alongside the new commissions, it hits home just how much stuff there is in the capital all year round, even when we’re not shouting about it. One little volume that speaks exactly that doctrine is the London Design Guide, edited by design author and ex-LDF deputy director Max Fraser and designed by Richard Ardagh Studio.
The book is now in its fourth edition, and spotlights the “design destinations” and aesthetically pleasing cafés, bars and restaurants around the city. For this iteration the book boasts a new identity with interlocking letters and a bright neon colour palette. As well as a new cover design – created by Richard Ardagh Studio for the first time – the interior pages (G. F Smith’s Naturalis Absolute White Smooth, if you’re interested) also show off new graphics and features, as well as a new “simple and clean” website.
