Following on from Web Design in Focus, our event hosted by Wix Playground last week, we’re offering 16 lucky creatives the chance to meet the speakers on a video call.

Please note that the deadline for this opportunity has now passed and we are no longer accepting new applications. We’re sorry if you missed it this time, but please do keep an eye on the site – we’re sure there will be further similar opportunities in future.
On Thursday last week, we teamed up with Wix Playground for the second time this year to host a lively online event – the perfect antidote to nervous vote counting and lockdowns. This time around the spotlight was firmly on web design, as we heard from five remarkable designers who dialled in from all over the world to talk us through their best website projects and share insights into how they make their work.
Now, if you joined us on the night and fell in love with one particular speaker’s work, or if you happened to miss the event but still want a chance to talk to one of them directly, well then you’re in luck! Because today we’re launching a Meet the Speakers opportunity. Each of our five speakers has agreed to do a day of one-on-one video calls with creatives of any discipline or level of experience – a mini-mentoring session, if you will.
Click on the button below to sign up for free and we’ll let you know if your application has been successful. The actual calls themselves will then be taking place next week, throughout the day on Thursday 19 November. As for the applications, we’ll be closing the link below at 10AM GMT Thursday 12 November (that’s this week!), so please don’t hesitate in signing up.
And who exactly would be joining you for this video mentoring session? Well, we hosted five incredible speakers at Web Design in Focus and you get to pick who you’d like to chat to. Our wonderful quintet were the creative coder and designer Yehwan Song, who joined us on Thursday from Seoul; the co-founder and creative director of Hato here in London, Kenjiro Kirton; Hamish Smyth from Order Design in New York; and Adam Rodgers and Stefan Endress, the founders of International Magic.
If your application is successful, you can use your allotted time with your speaker (or speakers) in any way you see fit. You might want to present a specific website you’ve been working on in order to invite some feedback, or you might want to fire a load of questions at them about how they built their careers, or you might simply prefer to chat to them about their lives outside of work. It’s entirely up to you.
These really are five designers at the absolute top of their games (if you joined us on Thursday, you’ll have seen their work and will know that already). So, click on the link below, throw your hat in the ring, and we hope to see you on a call next week!
