Lush commissions Caterina Bianchini to portray "the art of bathing"
Lush is a global cosmetic retailer that focusses on producing hair and beauty products which are 100% fresh and handmade and they have over 900 stores worldwide. In a bold visual move, the brand has commissioned former senior designer at Boiler Room, Caterina Bianchini, to create a poster with several concepts for its new flagship store in Rome, Italy.
According to Caterina “the concept behind all the posters was to create awareness around the selection of products Lush creates and the all natural vision the companies caries.” They feature the designer’s usual colourful and textural style in order to portray the theme “the art of bathing”. Caterina also explains on her website, “the designs have explored the use of high colour and bold typographic placement. Explosions of colour and typography coupled with giant bars of soap, bath bombs and plants make this project hard to miss!”
Although known for its strong anti-animal testing messages, Lush’s packaging tends to revolve around white on black text coupled with its logo. This new series of posters therefore marks a new direction for the brand, mirroring its visuals with its famously colourful and fun products.
