Charlie Hebdo’s January issue commemorates victims of attack on its office
One year on since the fatal attack on the offices of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, the publication is to release a special edition. The provocative cover, designed by editor Laurent Sourisseau, nicknamed Riss, depicts a deity armed with a Kalashikov rifle and the text “One year on: the assassin is still out there.”
One million copies of the magazine will be on sale tomorrow. The content will include a collection of cartoons by the five artists who were killed in the attack as well as responses from invited contributors.
The issue of the magazine that was published the week after the event sold over 7.5 million copies. It’s Nice That provided a round up of the responses from the media and the design community at the time.
