2017 Brit Awards statues designed by the late Zaha Hadid unveiled

The design for the statues awarded to the winners of the 2017 Brit Awards has been unveiled. The five trophies were designed by the architect Zaha Hadid who died suddenly aged 65 this year. The designs have been described by ZHA as a “family” that represents diversity “connected by a wave of transition, they are different, yet connected.”

Brit Awards chairman Jason Iley said: “We are delighted with the finished statues. Like Zaha, they are innovative and original and have gone well beyond our expectations to create something special that will progress the Award into the future.

Hadid is the seventh designer to have redesigned the Brit trophy following the likes of Vivienne Westwood (2011), Sir Peter Blake (2012), Damien Hirst (2013), Philip Treacy (2014) and Pam Hogg (2015).
