Vogue releases 1916 copies of anthology to celebrate 100 years of the fashion bible
To celebrate the 100th year of the ultimate fashion bible Vogue releases Voice of a Century an insight into “how we dress, entertain, what we eat, listen to, watch; who leads us, excited us and inspires us”.
This highly desirable book is a limited edition run of 1916 copies, each signed individually by at least seven key contributors. To celebrate the immense achievement of a 100 years at the forefront of fashion publications, Voice of a Century collates 400 Vogue photographs, illustrations and interviews. Iconic and rare gems of content are additionally featured, including editors and photographers discussing collaborations such as Jean Shrimpton and David Bailey, Juegen Teller’s first meeting with Isabella Blow, and Kate Moss recalls riding an elephant with Christy Burlington in Nepal.
Each page in this anthology displays the factors that have kept Vogue at arms length from its competitors, “a commitment to visual genius, an investment in storytelling, and a selective, optimistic editorial eye”.
With vast attention to detail Voice of a Century is a collectors item for the avid Vogue fan. Editor-In-Chief Alexandra Shulman says in her introduction to the book, “During the lifetime of British Vogue, there have been many Vogue books published. But never a book such as this”.
