Last summer, this pavilion designed by Carmody Groake, was open for three weeks on the roof of a 35m high multi-storey car park in the Stratford development site. It offered a unique dining experience in conjunction with Bistroteque. The cluster of interlocking structures were oriented to frame key elevated views of the Olympic site. Due to its temporary nature, all materials used were 100% recyclable: a scaffolding structure, lined internally with scaffolding planks, and bold yellow construction lighting snaking through the space. After dark, due to the translucence of the cladding, it transformed into a glowing light box.
