Wicker has not traditionally been the tool of choice for data visualisation. Nathalie Miebach’s work makes me think perhaps it should be. Shown here is a piece from a series in which Miebach translated weather data into musical scores, which were in turn translated into sculpture. For me her work is the visual equivalent of the Large Hadron Collider. It’s extremely complicated, very beautiful, and has the appearance that in the wrong hands it could be used to bring about the end of the universe.
