Hazy, dream-like images from the wonderfully talented Marcelo Gomes
If you were to search for a photographer who defines that gorgeous hazy middle ground between sleep and wakefulness, Marcelo Gomes would without a doubt be your best bet. He has built a career on creating images imbued with the kind of indistinct beauty that makes all of his subjects look about 50% more ethereal, nailing that dreamy aesthetic where so many photographers stumble.
Unsurprisingly, this has bagged him no small number of features in top publications, among them W Magazine, Inventory, The New York Times and Noon magazine, not to mention a commission to create a series of artworks for a new Apple campaign which has just launched. We’re particularly enamoured by his photographs of the very beautiful and incredibly talented Ana Kraš for Human Being Journal, in which she seems to be having so much fun that you can’t help but be drawn in. When Marcelo’s email came through updating us on what he’s been up to earlier this week it was immediately forwarded around the studio with the subject line “BRILLIANT!” which goes some way to explaining our feelings for him.
