Like many freelance designers, Louna Humbert never has two days the same. “I am constantly juggling between all kinds of projects,” she says. “I have done design work for music events for food brands, cultural organisations and fashion brands, all in Paris.” The designer’s universe, in all its variety from client to client, is a perfect match for her personal life and covers “everything I am interested in” she says, “I never get bored!”

At the heart of Louna’s technicolour design work, is a love for, and focus on typography. A discipline that she was most immersed in at design school, this is where the designer is able to find the most technical challenges in her work and has landed on a central point to pivot from in her practice. Structuring her designs around her funky letterforms, Louna does all of the illustration work for her projects, matching her playful approach to type with curvy lines and magnificent colour palettes. The designer is working across formats from posters to publications to logo and web design, and likes to take her inspiration from all things analogue — namely old prints and ephemera and a lot of “vintage signs I find in the street”.
