Kickstarter calls for limited edition creations
A new year means a new start, and how better to begin than by dusting off your best, most original ideas, wrestling them from the realm of pipe dreams and making them a reality?
This January, Kickstarter are launching Make100. Make100 aims to encourage budding creatives to realise their dream projects in 100-run editions. 100 songs or 100 zines, 100 cookbooks or 100 collages, any creative idea is possible. To take part, all you need to do is launch a Kickstarter project in January featuring your idea as a limited edition reward capped at 100 backers. Kickstarter tell us that “Make 100 will inspire creators to gain momentum into the new year, and find a network of supportive people to hold you accountable to making your project happen.”
So far, projects have included a limited-edition Eve print by Gail Potocki, a new fortune-telling system titled the space hobo bottle cap divination board, limited-edition rare Alphonse Mucha prints, a Tokyo photobook, the Loneliest LP and some steel decision-making dice.
“We’re excited to see where artists and designers take the Make 100 prompt. We’re forever in awe of our creative community, and we expect to see an enormous array of bold and lovely projects from independent creators all over the globe.” Kickstarter told It’s Nice That.
