It’s one thing fantasising about being asked to help come up with ideas for your favourite show (they’re gonna have to need new talent on The Simpsons one day) but it’s quite another to actually make detailed storyboards for the kind of episode you had in mind in your spare time. Luckily, Derek Ballard was a rather talented illustrator before this process started, so all he really needed to do was insert the characters he had already invented into each panel to make the episode of his dreams. Unless you’re already familiar with Derek’s work, he tends to draw busty babes from out space rolling around naked and playing computer games, so if you’re reading Adventure Time makers, please let him contribute for a special episode.
