Front Design

Front are the Swedish quartet responsible for a number of brilliantly conceived projects that are gathered into client and conceptual collections – my favourites include Design by Animals, Blow Away Vase for Moooi and Randomly Crystalized. I wondered why we hadn’t posted them before, until I saw a very old-school article, circa 2007 that proves that their work has been consistently unconventional, building an idea into a discussion around process and traditional design perceptions. Pictured (from the Animal collection even though it’s an insect) is the path of a fly, motion-tracked about a bulb and materialised into a lamp shade.
