As a rule conference identities err on the side of blandness, encapsulating complex ideas and disciplines with typographic treatments that do nothing to capture the imagination of their attendees. In fact even the word conference fails to get the creative juices flowing. Which is why Field’s work for the 2015 edition of Serbian tech festival Resonate is such an unusual and exciting addition to the visual language of talks-based events.
It has overseen the creation of a beautifully realised identity and promotional materials, in this instance commissioning Antar Walker to create a smooth animation of Hudson-Powell’s brightly coloured geometric identity above a backdrop of CGI objects and limbs. The animation hints at the groundbreaking achievements of this year’s lineup – whether electronic musicians, programmers or interaction designers of note. Though it’s a surprisingly engaging identity for this kind of event, the high standard of technical polish is exactly what we’ve come to expect from the London-based digital studio.
