Designer Collin Fletcher’s rich portfolio of music-related projects

Date
24 January 2017

Designer Collin Fletcher often works on music-related projects from posters and album sleeves to cassette tapes and T-shirts. His colour palette is a moody and atmospheric mix of black, burgundy and navy with the odd flash of white and pink, offering intrigue to the work.

Throughout his portfolio there’s both typographic designs and figurative visual artwork. His type work ranges from hand-drawn specimens to more unassuming sans serif faces that work with the understated backdrops. Collin’s style is subtle and sophisticated which is echoed in his images, where he blends found imagery with more crafted visuals.

His cassette tape designs for Elisha Morningstar and Lettera 22 are simple but well-composed, echoing the songs that sit within them. Whereas Collin’s poster work for various music nights in New York gives him the room to really experiment with lay outs and negative space, as he pushes the boundaries of the page.
