Architecture is a tough industry and architects will tell you it requires patience and working long hours; projects can run over several years, encounter bureaucratic challenges along the way, and risk not getting realised. Perhaps that’s what makes the fluid, small-scale but playful architecture of 815 Agency so tempting. Embracing Cedric Price’s idea of spectacles and collective play in the city, they’ve curated a Chip Factory for Tate Britain, designed the Poetry Takeaway, and put on a 100 person outdoor feast in Clerkenwell. Thinking about architecture in this way looks like a whole heap of fun.
