Quentin Blake creates new BFG piece for St Pancras International’s summer series of events

Hailing a partnership between House of Illustration and St Pancras International holding their summer series of illustration events, Quentin Blake has created an original illustration of Roald Dahl’s BFG to be exhibited in the station.

A programme of free ticketed events is being held at St Pancras International over the summer, including the exhibition of this new piece, BFG illustration classes and a Q&A with Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell. “Our exclusive series of classes and talks in partnership with House of Illustration have been created to spark inspiration and hopefully set visitors on a creative journey of their own this summer,” says St Pancras International commercial director Wendy Spinks.

This partnership satellites the House of Illustration’s summer exhibition The BFG in Pictures which features never-before-seen works by Blake illustrated for Roald Dahl’s beloved novel, the retrospective exhibition of Blake’s work at National Museum Cardiff, as well as the cinematic release of the latest adaptation of the novel by Steven Spielberg on 22 July.

The events form part of Roald Dahl 100, a countrywide celebration marking the centenary of the late, treasured author’s birth.
