Margot Bowman creates very NSFW website for Falty DL
New-media artist, director and consultant Margot Bowman has created www.heavenisforquitters.com a part-sexy, part-amazingly depressing website for the launch of FaltyDL’s new album Heaven is for Quitters.
The site opens with a circle which moves from white to red. Clicking on the page takes you through a second page, where tracks from FaltyDL’s album play, and, in time to the music, purple figures perform sex acts on figures and animate objects. The more times you click on the page, the more figures appear, each rhythmically grinding their way through the track. Red flashing text links each of the figures announcing “You are alone. You are sad. You are so alone.”
Margot posted that www.heavenisforquitters.com “is inspired by our super-connected/super-isolated generation where everyone knows how to take a sexy selfie and yet young people are having less sex than ever. So the site is a kind of a DIY sex adventure that spits out all the different ways we’re getting off in 2016. Sometimes with people, sometimes with geometric objects and sometimes with imaginary creatures. It’s a weird anonymous world, where pleasure is lit by phone screens and neon lights. It’s fantasy but it’s just around the corner from the truth.”
