Malika Favre: The New Yorker Summer Fiction Issue cover

Malika Favre’s illustration for this week’s New Yorker magazine has been brought to life by French animator Mathieu Maillefer.

The illustration is Malika’s first for the magazine, and features one of the London-based illustrator’s typically elegant female characters reading a book, to honour the magazine’s dedicated Summer Fiction Issue and cover story, Page Turner.

In the short animation, Mathieu takes the character’s gaze away from the viewer and back to the book in hand. The magazine is art directed by Francoise Mouly.

Malika will be speaking at It’s Nice That’s annual symposium Here 2016. Read more about Malika’s work here.
