Sumi Ink Club is the brainchild of Sarah Rara and Luke Fischbeck, two LA-based creative types that until recently were better-known under their musical moniker Lucky Dragons. As a band that creates musical experiences wholly dependent on audience participation and collaboration (there’s a lot of touching at their gigs) it’s unsurprising to discover that their illustrative practice is also crowd-generated, inviting participants to contribute to vast canvases of inky goodness, all in the name of creative experimentation. No experience necessary, brushes and ink provided. Needless to say the results are awesome.
