Crochet used to be associated with old grannies and pregnant women, but in the last few years, it’s had a resurgence, coinciding with a renewed respect for craft. Crochetdermist Shauna Richardson’s collection of skillfully hand-made animals are rather elegantly executed in terms of both scale and presentation – they poke fun at hunting lodge animal displays and manage to avoid being twee or kitsch. Richardson has received notable recognition for her handiwork – the bear is currently being exhibited at The V&A and she’s also been picked for the Cultural Olympiad Artists Taking the Lead project.
