Extraordinary photographs of striking scenes by brilliant Eva O'Leary
Eva O’Leary’s striking photographs stand out in my mind like a bolt of colour in a black hole. I can’t entirely put my finger on what it is that makes them so extraordinary – a strange combination of hues which have been dialled up to 11, accompanied by the crisp, unwavering gaze of her subjects and the unexpected juxtaposition of scenes – but they’re phenomenal in their poignancy.
She’s previously collaborated with Harry Griffin, but her newest bundle of personal work sits separately to all that’s gone before in her portfolio – a carefully crafted and memorable collection of oddities. I don’t doubt that those searing green eyes will still be emblazoned on the inside of my eyelids when I go to sleep tonight.
