Kids raid mum and dad’s high fashion wardrobes in Erik Panov’s shoot for Afisha Magazine
We only featured Erik Panov’s work a couple of months ago, but it’s not everyday that someone photographs kids with such style, wit and panache. The editorial for Afisha Magazine sees children dressed up in oversized jackets, wide-legged trousers and shoes that are ten sizes too big and definitely meant for the grown-ups. As in his previous editorial for the magazine, Erik collaborated with art director Natasha Istomina on Kids, which features Erik’s siblings and children who don’t look at all out of place, with their confident, empty model glares and poised posing. The shoot is beautifully lit, has a great colour palette and uses props brilliantly – such as on-the-vine tomatoes, cans of coke and those Gucci fluffy loafers that look like flattened Shih Tzu’s. I just hope that this is how every day is dressed in the Panov household.
