Angela Dalinger’s paintings add an acrylic sheen to daily life

Angela Dalinger’s talent with a paintbrush is enviable. Tiny, intricate brushstrokes represent buildings, greenery and even a tarmac road adding an acrylic sheen to mundane elements of life. We’ve featured Angela previously when she was painting heavy metal gigs, but now she is illustrating a whole lot more than sweaty dance floors.

Angela studied illustration at the HAW, Hamburg and now resides in a small village Neetzendorf, south of the city. Using acrylic on “paper, cardboard or wood” Angela’s pieces often have a dark humour to them. A skeleton floating in a pool for instance, or a giant dildo factory with a hilariously apt water feature. The architecture Angela paints appears American in many aspects with wide spanning cinema complexes or shops. The format and dainty detail of each piece also makes Angela’s work ideal for record sleeves, which she recently completed for Ramirez Exposure.

If you’re lucky enough to be in Valencia, Spain, from May 12 Angela will be exhibiting at Sebastian Melmoth.
