Cheap lithographic prints purchased by Wayne White in charity shops and the like have all received some bold typographic remastering. With monolithic letters hanging suspended, perspective proportionate or propped against the generic landscapes, its hard to miss the Hollywood connotation and even less difficult to wonder what message he’s giving. Especially when it’s a huge ‘Cheap Bastard’ looking so nice in a painting of americ-anywhere. Spotted it in a vaguely new, good looking book of White’s work titled Maybe Now I’ll Get The Respect I So Richly Deserve with more of his ‘personal blend of screwball surrealism and humour’.
